"The Ocean Embraces All Rivers" is derived from Jin Dynasty scholar Yuan Hong’s "Encomium to Famous Ministers of the 3 Kingdoms": "The heart though small, is like the sea into which all rivers run, able to embrace vastness." It explains that why the sea is so deep and infinite is because it can embrace all rivers large and small. The work describes Kaohsiung as a diverse military, industry, commercial and fishing harbor city. This station is also located next to the National Kaohsiung Marine University, which encourages its students, whether in life or in academic study, to emulate the ocean in mind and spirit, to keep an open-minded vision and not rigidly adhere to details, thereby "learning from everything and everyone".
