Clear Skies and Rain

This work is positioned on the wall on either side of one of the station’s ventilation shafts (left external elevation 555×600cm, left internal elevation 320×520cm) and the upper area of the front elevation (543×520cm). It uses mirror-like glass on which the artist prints the pictures of palm trees. This glass also reflects the real sky, whilst the lush greenness of the tropical palm trees overflow with a sense of life and vitality, forming a dialectical relationship between real and unreal images of the environment. Regardless of what kind of weather is presented in these inverted images in the glass, whether it is sunny or raining, boiling hot or freezing cold, the green trees create a fresh new image for Kaohsiung.
